FORHAIR FUE Hair Journey

A Real Patient's Hair Transplant Timeline

We're honored to introduce our patient's experience. Hair results take time to manifest, and understanding the process can help alleviate concerns during recovery, allowing you to savor the gradual progres of hair growth

Age: In his mid-30s

Nationality: American

Hair characteristics: Thin and slightly curly hair

Hair transplant techinique: Forhair FUE with SLIT implantation

Haircut style: Fully shave

Graft count: 2,000

Hair goal: Restroing the front region (hairline to mid-scalp)

Selected hairline design: M-shaped (mature)

Treatment plan: Considering his age, his hair loss has developed quite rapidly, and most of his hair was lost from the hairline to the vertex area. He tried Finasteride medication for more than 2 years, which helped stabilize the hair loss. Consequently, he decided to undergo surgery to restore the bald area. Due to the extensive baldness, it was not feasible to cover the entire area in one session without risking damage to his scalp. Therefore, we planned 2000 grafts (approximately 4600-5000 hairs) to restore his frontal region in the first session and scheduled a second session for the crown. Despite his naturally thin hair, his donor site was in good condition, allowing us to plan two sessions for full coverage.

This is the journey of his first Forhair FUE session. Our plan was to cover the bald area as much as possible with 2000 grafts. To achieve this, we had to set the hairline slightly high, adopting a mature hairline shape that was also suitable for his facial features. JJ also desired more coverage on the top rather than just a pretty hairline with thin hair.

Recipient area: The grafts are implanted in the target area as designed with high density. These grafts, depicted as white balls, will transform into scabs within a day or two and are to be removed on post-op day 14.

*Fully shaven FUE: We offer three types of haircuts: fully shaved, partially shaved, and zero shaved. Individuals can choose their preferred method.

Pictures in order: Immediate after surgery / The following day - the 1st shampoo

On post-operative day 14, it is recommended to shampoo while gently touching the grafts and recipient site to remove all scabs formed around the transplanted hair. Once the scabs are gone, the recipient site may exhibit slight redness (a temporary symptom).

Most of the transplanted hair fell off around post-operative week 3, leaving the recipient site empty again. The redness at the recipient site has improved but is still recovering. The donor site was already healed in the 1st month. It is time for rest, and the growth of new hair is expected to occur in the next month.

Fine hairs began to emerge from the scalp around 3 months post-op, filling the recipient area with new hairs that are forming the new hairline. Wearing it forward is the only styling option with the new short hair, but more options will be possible as the new hair is growing thicker and longer. The front and side profiles have improved greatly!

Final result: The new hairs have successfully grown into mature, thick strands. 2000 grafts were efficiently implanted to restore his hairline and mid-scalp region. There are no thinning spot at the recipient site, indicating that the transplanted hair has successfully survived and filled in the former bald area. His scalp is in good condition with no signs of scarring or unnatural appearance.

With the newly gained hair in the front, he now wears a slick-back hairstyle to cover the crown. His second FUE session to cover the crown is already booked for around 1500 grafts.
