FORHAIR FUE Patient Guide

Post-op Shampoo

Regular washing of the hair is very important after the surgery. There is a tendency to think that this will disturb surgery areas, but shampooing helps remove dirt, blood, oil, and it will gently dislodge the scabs that form over the recipient sites.

SHAMPOO - day 1 to day 13

• After the 1st shampoo at the clinic, you're instructed to follow the same method to wash your hair for 13 days. Never touch the recipient area (the grafts) during the shampoo.

• Do not bend your head forward to wash your hair. We recommend either a seated or standing position.

• You should wash your head/hair at least once a day. Keeping the surgery areas,

both donor and recipient areas are important.

• Post-op products are not for carry-on baggage

International flight rules. You need to cary liquids in checked baggage.

STEP 1

Rinse your head/hair with low pressured lukewarm water.

STEP 2

Apply post-op bubble shampoo on the grafts. Be careful that the tip of shampoo bottle does not touch the grafts. Let the bubbles sit there for 3-5 minutes

STEP 3

• Leaving the bubbles on the grafts, shampoo the rest of the head/hair like you normally wash with the provided sensitive/mild shampoo(green lable). You can touch non-grafted area.

Donor area: it is normal to feel sore and itchy as you heal. The uncomfortable feeling will subside gradually. You should do proper wash by rubbing the area to keep it clean.

STEP 4

• Rinse thoroughly without touching the grafts.

STEP 5

• (Long hairstyles, optional) Gently squeeze your wet hair with a towel. Make sure the towel does not touch the grafts.

STEP 6

• Do not dry towel to avoid risk of touching the grafts by accident. Hair dryer is allowed: set it for cold air.

• Those with short hairstyles, you can let your hair dry naturally.

STEP 7

• Apply spray tonic regularly in 1-3 hour intervals on the grafts during the day time (no need to wake up for spraying). Its purpose is to prevent the grafts from becoming too dry. Use entire content of the bottle in 2 weeks. It is ok they run out early.

Your scabs will turn brown/light brown/white(color does not matter).

• Some of the scabs will come off naturally in the first 2 weeks during the wash. Scabs will be completed removed on your DAY 14 once you you start washing your head/hair in the normal way (touching recipient area).

DAY 14

Removal of scabs: on your DAY 14, stay in a shower longer than usual to make scabs get soft, then remove them by gently massaging the recipient area in a circular motion. Scabs will be gone in 1-2 sessions of shampoo.
